About Reading Festival
Two fantastic rock bands called themselves Reading in the early years of the 21st century. A four-piece from Louisville, Kentucky, and a five-piece from Athens, GA.
Merging the tastes and talents of four diverse and seasoned musicians, READING (KY) builds an eclectic mix of Rock and Pop on a super-solid Indie foundation that holds it all together and keeps it interesting.
The music is smart, with its synthesized melodies and back-up vocals and keeps it together with well-developed hooks, complex rhythms, and lyrics for the thinking man. It is poppy without being trite. Challenging without being mathematical. Emotional without whining.
Reading (KY) broke up in February 2006.

Many of the Reading mp3s that people are charting on here are by an also-defunct band from Athens, GA.
Reading (GA) existed from approximately November 2002 - August 2004, and ironically had a similar sound to Reading (KY).
Reading recorded an LP called "The Vinyl Letdown" with Chris Bishop (who also has engineered/produced records by Macha, Bedhead, Elf Power, Circulatory System, and Phosphorescent) at Radium Recording studio in Commerce, GA.
Reading (GA) was adventurous and epic with concise lyrics. Big, but fun. Mathematical, yet very melodic. Noisy and delicate. Five young men who defied many of the pretense of their influences and made a courageous racket.
