About Michael McIntyre

Born and raised in Muswell Hill, London, he is half Canadian/Hungarian and educated at Arnold House before attending public school. His father was Ray Cameron, who wrote with Barry Cryer for Kenny Everett. Cameron and Michael's mother were divorced when Michael was seven, and ten years later, Cameron (who had emigrated to the USA) suddenly died of a heart attack when McIntyre was 17. In 2008, Michael referred to his appearance (as well as his newborn son's appearance) as looking Chinese when he smiles and that he is mistaken as Chinese when in some restaurants.

Michael was a Perrier Comedy Award 'Best Newcomer' Nominee in 2003. His comedy style is characterised as playing on social norms/quirks such as 'wrong numbers', 'carrying the shopping' and northern British accents. He has appeared on several radio and television programmes, including Thank God You're Here, Mock the Week, 8 out of 10 Cats, Big Brother's Little Brother (2008), Would I Lie To You? and Have I Got News for You. He also has a regular video blog on the official Channel 4 Big Brother 2008 UK website. He revealed on Radio 5 Live before the Carling Cup Final that he is a fan of Tottenham Hotspur F.C.. He has two children, named Lucas and Oscar, with his wife, Kitty.
